Premier Oilfield Rentals Celebrates 35 Years in Business

Premier Oilfield Rentals Ltd, specialists in the rental of ‘next generation’ drill pipe and tubular handling equipment, celebrated thirty-five years in business by hosting a dinner dance at the Copthorne Hotel in Aberdeen. The event was attended by 130 guests including staff, past and present, and representatives from parent company Superior Energy Services Inc and sister company Workstrings LLC.

During the dinner dance Ken Blanchard, president and COO of Superior, took the opportunity to address guests thanking staff for their hard work over the years and credited them with making Premier such a success.

Russell Crofts, Premier’s managing director comments, “Thirty-five years in business is a major achievement for the company, this has been aided by quality products, knowledgeable owners, good leadership and most of all a dedicated workforce. Our people are at the heart of our organisation, many having worked with us for over 20 years, we appreciate their contribution and commitment to the success of the company. We are experiencing an exceptionally busy year for all our operating bases; Europe, Africa and the Middle East, and plan to continue growing the business in these key operating regions.”

Premier has been at the forefront of the oilfield rental sector since 1972, providing drill pipe, tubing, tubular handling equipment and down hole tools to the international oil and gas industry. Continuing investment in the latest drill pipe technology ensures the company maintains its competitive position as a leading provider of high specification drill pipe.

The purchase of Premier in 2003 was the first Eastern Hemisphere acquisition by US based Superior, commencing their international expansion plans and raising awareness of the Superior brand. Premier is thriving as part of the group achieving significant growth in earnings over the past four years. The acquisition of Aberdeen based Duffy & McGovern Accommodation Services in early 2007 further strengthens the group internationally. In addition to rental tools and accommodation modules Superior’s operations include: well control, plugging & abandonment, lift boat rental and hydraulic workover.
